Cate Blanchett’s much-talked-about psychological drama film ‘Tár’ will finally hit Indian theatres soon. The movie released in the US back in October, 2022. ‘Tár’ is a front-runner at the Oscars 2023 for a host of awards, including a Best Actress nod for Cate Blanchett. Now that the Oscars are almost upon us, ‘Tár’ is finally coming in Indian theatres, to leverage the Oscars chatter. ‘Tár‘ releases in theatres across India on 10th March, 2023, just a couple of days before the Academy Awards 2023 are announced.
The story of ‘Tár’ centres on a fictional character, Lydia Tár, who is the first female chief conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic. The story portrays the downfall of Lydia Tár, as she struggles in her professional and personal life. When a young former student dies by suicide, she must face accusations of sexual and mental abuse. Will Lydia Tár be able to rise above the muck, and redeem herself?
‘Tár’ stars a seminal Cate Blanchett in the titular role, along with Nina Hoss, Noémie Merlant, Sophie Kauer, Julian Glover, Allan Corduner, and Mark Strong in pivotal roles. Blanchett has already pocketed the Golden Globe and the BAFTA Award for Best Actress, and is in line to repeat the feat at the Oscars 2023. The film is directed by Todd Field.
The film has been nominated for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, Best Actress, Best Cinematography and Best Editing at the Oscars 2023. ‘Tár’ made history earlier, when it won Best Film at four top Critics’ Awards, only the fourth film in history to do so.
Tár premieres in theatres in India on 10th March, 2023. Have a look at the trailer of the film –
