Ever since the launch of the Celebrity Cricket League T20 cricket tournament in 2011, the event has grabbed many eyeballs. Because it served as a unique blend of two things which Indians are madly in love with – cricket and films. The CCL comprises different cricket teams from various Indian film industries such as Hindi, Punjabi, Bhojpuri, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam, etc. And the cricket league is set to get even more popular now.
Because the Indian streaming service Jio Cinema has now partnered with CCL to live-stream the upcoming tenth season of the T20 cricket series for free. CCL Season-10 will be played over a period of four weekends with a total of twenty matches that will be played between the star-studded cricket teams. CCL 10 will begin streaming on the Jio Cinema OTT platform from 23rd February 2024 onwards.
Many Indian film stars like Salman Khan, Sohail Khan, Riteish Deshmukh, Venkatesh, Sudeep, Manoj Tiwari, Mohanlal, and Arya have been associated with the cricket league in various capacities. So, the Celebrity Cricket League aka CCL 10 getting an online platform like Jio Cinema with such a wide reach is a win-win situation for both.
Jio Cinema aggressively reinvented its content offerings last year and Cricket has been an integral factor in its portfolio. First, the OTT giant streamed the IPL 2023 and later it also streamed the India vs Australia ODI and T20 series. The ongoing India Vs England test match series is also being streamed for free on the Jio Cinema OTT platform. So, it would be interesting to see what kind of traction the Celebrity Cricket League Season-10 (CCL 10) T20 cricket tournament gets on Jio Cinema.
