Anushka Sharma has finally announced a film called Chakda ‘Xpress. A few days back reports about her comeback were prominent in the headlines. Looks like this is the one they were talking about.
Women’s cricket has always been neglected by BCCI and fans alike. But, there are a lot of highly successful players who need to be celebrated. Anushka Sharma is playing the biopic of Jhulan Goswami in Chakda ‘Xpress.
Jhulan Goswami is too big a name for any introduction. Widely regarded as one of the greatest women fast bowlers of all time, she served in the Indian team for 15 years.
She was also a very dependable batter who helped India win many matches.
Regardless, a biopic on her was announced in 2017 and today we got the confirmation of the leading lady.
She belongs to Chakda from West Bengal and that is why the film is titled Chakda ‘Xpress.
In the official announcement video, we can see that the women’s team did not even have a jersey of their own. They had to use the Jersey of their male counterparts.
Even though there were no fans in the stadium to cheer them on.
But even after all these things, what really matters is the quality of the film. It might be too early to judge but Anushka Sharma’s Bengali accent is not convincing.
The film will release directly on Netflix but we are not sure about any dates yet.
