The official trailer for ‘Chamak’ is out now. It will be a SonyLIV original and deal with the story of a musician from the Punjabi music industry. ‘Chamak’ is created and directed by Rohit Jugraj. The show will be streaming from the 7th of December this year.
‘Chamak’ tells the story of a musician named Kaala and his journey of self-exploration through the dark worlds of mafia, politics, feuds and murders. ‘Kaala’ comes back from Canada to try his luck in India and has to face the dangerous side of Punjabi music mafia. The teaser of the show was released some time ago. It was a beautiful teaser with colourful frames and wonderful background music. The trailer looks great too. The first teaser started with a folk singer Taara Singh being shot at a very young age. And Kaala goes on exploring the legacy of Taara Singh. The character of Taara Singh might be inspired from Amar Singh Chamkila.
‘Chamak’ has 14 artists singing a total of 28 songs. There will be enough groovy tracks to listen to for the year. The show will have Mohit Malik in the lead role and has singers like Asees Kaur, Mika Singh, MC Square, Gippy Grewal, Akasa Singh, Sunidhi Chauhan, Kanwar Grewal, Malkit Singh too. There is a lack of good musical thrillers in the Indian film industries. And it has been long since we had some good content in the genre. Hopefully ‘Chamak’ will bridge that gap.
