Rockstar is one of the landmark films in the history of Bollywood. The movie was not a big theatrical success at the time of release but eventually, it went on to become one of the cult classics. The movie, the album and the more than extraordinary execution of the story still resonate with the audience.
But, as more and more people watched the film, there was a repetitive complaint against the movie. It was the performance of the leading lady Nargis Fakhri. Since she was not fluent in Hindi, Mona Ghosh Shetty dubbed her voice in the film.
Let’s not talk about the popularity of the actress but she clearly could not carry the weight of the greatness that Rockstar carried.
Chamkila has a lot of similarities with Rockstar. Based on singers, both movies trace the rise and fall of an artist.
Remarkably, we noticed the fact that Parineeti didn’t get any of her dialogues featured in the trailer. To say the least, it is sad. Her career could never take her to the top but is quite a bit recognisable amongst the youth.
We wonder the reason behind and it could be the case of Rockstar. Looks like the makers want to market the film solely on the shoulders of Diljit Dosanjh, Imtiaz Ali and AR Rahman.
Let’s hope the movie features some more of Parineeti Chopra.
