Charlotte Wells’ ‘Aftersun‘ will start streaming on OTT very soon. It stars actors like Paul Mescal, France Corio, Spike Fearn and Celia Rowlson Hall.
The movie initially released on the 21st of October in select theaters. And now it is going to stream exclusively on Mubi.
Aftersun is a period film sey in the 1990s and tells a heartwrenching tale of a father and her daughter and the distance between them. Sophie, the daughter, thinks about his father and reconciles the memories of her going on a vacation with her father many years ago. Her father Calum was a gentle and loving father and a widower. Sophie was a highly perceptive child but she struggled to understand the desires and conflicts his father deals with. Her father is lonely and suffers from sexual frustration and feels guilty as he has a daughter and she is very observant. Sophie, now an adult tries to match the two images of her father, one of the idealistic father she saw in her childhood and one that she understands now.
The movie is directed by Charlotte Wells and runs for 1 hour and 36 minutes. The music of the film is composed by Oliver Coates and the cinematography is handled by Gregory Oake.
Aftersun is getting wide appreciation from critics now and it is listed as the number 1 movie by many news portals and critics. The movie will finally be streaming on the 6th of January next year. Make sure to add ‘Aftersun’ to your watchlist and watch it on Mubi after its release.
