The fans of television shows from all around the world cannot wait to watch their favourite TV performers emerge victorious in their respective categories at the 74th Emmy Awards. NBC will handle the event’s live telecast for US viewers. As for the South Asian audience, Lionsgate Play has been chosen as the ceremony’s official broadcaster.
Indian viewers can watch this year’s Emmys at 5:30 AM (IST) on September 13. Plus, the executive vice president of Lionsgate India, Amit Dhanuka, has revealed that the streaming service will stream the upcoming event live for the first time in the country. Apart from India, Lionsgate Play will telecast the ceremony in Malaysia and the Philippines.
Emmys honour the best in American prime-time television. All the winners and nominees get chosen by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (ATAS). The event will be streamed live straight from the Microsoft Theater, LA, California. Additionally, it is a co-production of ‘Done and Dusted’ and ‘Hudlin Entertainment’.
HBO’s Succession bagged the most major nominations (12) this year. Another HBO product, The White Lotus, received the second-highest number of major nominations (11). Also, the television network earned a total of 50 nominations, the most by any network. On the other hand, Hulu surprised everyone and received 26 nominations.
