‘Chhaava’ released in theatres yesterday and we now have the official data of its day 1 business. According to Maddock Films ‘Chhaava’ has collected ₹33.1 crores met box office collection in India and if we consider the worldwide gross box office collection it is ₹50 crores. In fact it is touted to be the biggest opening ever for a historical Hindi film.
The film is performing great in Maharashtra and northern India and is expected to have a stronger box office run over the weekend.
But we all know that more than this it’s the people’s words for the film that’s more reliable. The initial reviews and reactions for Laxman Utekar directorial ‘Chhaava’ are now out and there is kind of a mixed response.
Vicky Kaushal’s performance is being appreciated and it becomes more important since ‘Chhaava’ marks the biggest opening day for him, surpassing all his previous films. Other cast members like Rashmika Mandanna, Ashutosh Rana, Divya Dutta, and Vinnet Kumar Singh have done good job in their limited roles.
‘Chhaava’ has received praise for its narrative, action, and drama. Special mention is being given for the last 40-45 minutes of the film which managed to grip the audience well and turned out to be a great climax.
Though there has been criticism regarding the screenplay, which has its flaws and is rather inconsistent. Also, many fans believe the background music is the sore point of ‘Chhaava’, it lacks impact and is not up to the mark.
Predictions are that ‘Chhaava’ will enter ₹100 cr club on Day 3 and turn out to be 2025’s first blockbuster. What do you think?

#Chhaava is hands down what historical movies have been missing for a long time. Indeed there are lots of slow pace issues but the climax that is not known by ppl has been shown in a way that will make ppl cry. It might be made a tax free movie in Maharashtra to say the least.. pic.twitter.com/Fo6jgFDVwi

#Chhava is an emotional roller coaster. Vicky Kaushal did an amazing job as Chatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. His dedication towards cinema is clearly visible in this film. His acting in the climax is so impressive. Music is the biggest dissatisfaction in the film. pic.twitter.com/8ZEJK87183

Vicky Kaushal as Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj was incredible his aura and screen presence were absolutely fire. He's the next potential superstar. #Chhaava is the best historical film in Bollywood for me, and I'm going to watch it again and again. pic.twitter.com/VkDUOnm1VW
