The Vicky Kaushal starrer Chhaava was finally released for OTT on the 11th of April. It has received some very favorable attention from the viewers.
This movie was released earlier in February to similarly shining reviews from theater audiences. This historical drama, based on a novel by the same name by Shivaji Sawant, became the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2025 so far. This movie also stars some well-known faces in the Bollywood scene, such as Rashmika Mandanna and Akshay Khanna. Kaushal’s explosive performance and portrayal of Chhatrapati Shivaji have been praised by multiple critics and fans alike.
The film has raised some eyebrows regarding its plethora of historical inaccuracies. The story-telling hasn’t really seemed to resonate too well with the critics. On the other hand, its ambitious and bombastic narrative accompanied by complementary stunning visuals has drawn a lot of praise from viewers.
Although a smash hit, the movie has been the subject of some controversial dialogues owing to its narrative portraying religious conflict. With the film releasing on OTT yesterday, fans already seem to be appreciating this grand historical experience from their homes. Chhava is a big hit among the fans of OTT.
The film has been trending at number 2 in India and it will soon take over the first part. Currently, Nani’s Court: State Vs A Nobody is enjoying first place among the Top 10 movies in India.
The performances of Vicky Kaushal and Akshaye Khanna are appreciated and the overall narrative gives a lot of adrenaline rush to the people.
