‘Digiplex’, an upcoming and highly anticipated OTT platform has recently announced their first Bengali web series “Lost”. The series will dive into the gloomy history of a few particular individuals who are all connected by a strange unknown force.
The series boast an extensively-ranged cast including the veteran Bengali actor and theater artist Shantilal Mukherjee, and popular OTT artist Poulomi Das, and unexpectedly (in a good way) “Chhichore” actor and ex-Army officer Rudrashish Majumdar in a pivotal role. This marks his debut on two fronts: Adding a Tollywood project under his belt and a web series to his repertoire.
Cited to be a supernatural thriller, “Lost” has been slated for a 2021 release alongside 30 other original shows when ‘Digiplex’ launches. Over 1400 hours of content will be available at the time of it’s launch including the previously mentioned web series, a library showcasing over 400 movies (including regional ones) and a thousand songs, cites executive chairman and MD of ‘Digiplex’, Dibyendu Roy Chowdhary.
The rest of the cast includes Anindya Pulak Banerjee, Indrashish Ray, another OTT debutant actor Rishav Basu and young actor Husne Shabnam, who has worked in critically acclaimed Malayali film “Katti Nrittam” and has worked in a web series for Amazon Prime as well. The series will be made in association with Lucifer Films and Venture Films.
The series is helmed by the Bengali director duo of Meenakshii and Abhishek who also directed the movie “Kuasha Jokhon” (which also features the previously mentioned Rishav Basu), a paranormal romance film. “Lost” is set to go into production from the end of August 2020 and the shooting will be done after the SOP for web series in West Bengal is met and strict guidelines of social distancing is maintained.
Rudrashish Majumdar will also be seen in the upcoming Hindi film Jersey alongside Shahid Kapoor.
