It was quite a while ago now that HBO Max made an announcement regarding a reboot of a certain series and ever since that fans have been going crazy about it. The series reboot we are talking about is none other than “Sex and The City” and if it wasn’t known, the reboot has been named as “And Just Like That”. It was reported that Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon have happily jumped in for this reunion and the shoot for the same was supposed to start by the late spring in 2021.
To add to all these, last week news was out that Sara Ramirez has also joined the cast of the upcoming series. With all these women in the reboot, fans were really excited. Now to add to this excitement it is being confirmed the Chris Noth, who essayed the role of Mr. Big, both in the series and movies, will make his comeback in the show as Carrie’s (Sarah Jessica Parker) love interest. It is still not confirmed whether Noth will be a series regular or will make certain appearances in the show.
The much anticipated reboot brings the three friends back together as they share their troubles and issues, while they discover life and friendship in their 50s together. Sara Ramirez’s character will appear as Che Diaz, a nonbinary, queer stand-up comedian who hosts a podcast where Carrie is regularly featured. The upcoming series will have 10 episodes with each episode being half an hour long.
The entry of Chris Noth is a really big news for the team, as executive producer Michael Patrick King mentioned that imagining a new a chapter for Sex and The City in “And Just Like That” without Mr. Big would have been impossible. King, who has been involved with “Sex and The City” since its inception from its first series to the two movies, will executive produce the movie along with Parker Davis and Nixon. The creators are still on the lookout for a showrunner at the moment.
The series that started back in late 90s brought about some topics that were considered sensitive to be streamed on TV, especially since it came from a women’s point of view but this show proved to be pathbreaking in every way possible and till this day, the fans of the show have been showering love on it and with reboot coming in, we are sure the show will be hit once again.
