In an exciting update for fans of the Disney Plus space Western series ‘The Mandalorian’, veteran Hollywood actor Christopher Lloyd has reportedly (via The Hollywood Reporter) has joined the cast of the show’s eagerly anticipated third season. Although the precise details of Christopher Lloyd’s character have not been disclosed, it seems that the actor would have a guest appearance in ‘The Mandalorian Season 3’.
Created by ‘Iron Man’ director Jon Favreau, ‘The Mandalorian’ third season is currently being filmed in Southern California and is expected to start streaming on the Disney Plus OTT platform sometime in the second half of 2022.
Set five years after the events of the Star Wars film ‘Return of the Jedi’, ‘The Mandalorian’ features Pedro Pascal (‘Game of Thrones’, ‘Narcos’) as the titular bounty hunter Din Djarin. The lone gunfighter is enlisted for a mission to retrieve child Grogu. Both seasons of ‘The Mandalorian’ had garnered widespread acclaim and boast of an impressive 93% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes.
The addition of Christopher Lloyd will certainly lend more star power to ‘The Mandalorian’ live-action series starring Pedro Pascal, Carl Weathers, and Giancarlo Esposito. A few years after making his feature film acting debut in Jack Nicholson’s ‘One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest’, the 83-year-old actor became a global sensation along with Michael J. Fox after starring in Robert Zemeckis’ cult time travel trilogy ‘Back to the Future’.
Besides ‘Back to the Future’, Christopher Lloyd is also known for his roles in the drama series ‘Road to Avonlea’ and American sitcom ‘Taxi’ for which he had won the prestigious Primetime Emmy awards. His other notable performances include ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit’, ‘The Addams Family’, ‘Star Trek III: The Search for Spock’, and ‘Twenty Bucks’, amongst others.
