Irish actor Ciarán Hinds has all reasons to be on top of the moon right now. For the unknown, he fetched an Oscar Nomination for his performance in the Kenneth Branagh directorial “Belfast” recently. And now he’s joining Netflix spy drama series “Treason”.
Hinds will be starring alongside Olga Kurylenko, Oona Chaplin and Charlie Cox in this six part series conceptualized by Oscar-nominated screenwriter Matt Charman.
The drama is centred around a complicated triangular relationship featuring Adam Lawrence, who is trained and groomed by MI6, Kara – a Russian spy with whom Adam shares a messy past and his wife Maddy. What follows is a messy tri-dimensional political and diplomatic war (quite literally) between the trio where all of the three try to expose one another’s secrets clinging on to their loved ones. It is reported that Hinds plays Sir Martin Angelis, the boss and mentor of Charlie Cox’s Adam.
Produced by Binocular Productions, Treason is Charman’s production company’s maiden major project. However this is the second major collaboration between Netflix and Charman. The first one is the upcoming Halle Berry starrer sci-fi film “The Mothership” which he wrote and also directed. Charman also writes and executive-produces “Treason”. Louise Hooper, known for The Witcher, is attached to direct. Stay tuned for more updates.
