Cinemas have been a constant for our country and have given several life lessons, moments of laughter, sadness and each emotion over the decades. You just cannot replicate the amount of energy and vibe cinemas have created by streaming a film on your phone or Television.
Despite getting a lot of recognition from Indian audiences and all around the world, OTT platforms have simply manhandled cinemas over the months and continue to do so by having a high amount of users monthly as compared to moviegoers.
But with all the crowd moving themselves over to the OTT, will this have an ultimate end to multiplexes and cinemas? No, perhaps cinemas will keep on growing in the years to come as the experience viewers have in a movie hall cannot be achieved while sitting at home.
Tumbbad’s fame Sohum Shah also backed cinemas in a recent interview stating he will never depend on OTT for his films. He stated how he has been a filmaholic his whole life and has taken several life lessons from cinema.
Whether you agree with it or not, Sohum Shah is correct with his choice of words and has a strong opinion regarding the art. Cinemas have been a blessing for several people involved backstage and have produced several jobs for all sectors.
While OTT has its benefits, we cannot just ignore the fact that these films were once made only for Cinema and people used to wait in huge lines to get a ticket for their favorite film. That vibe and atmosphere can only be created by movie halls and it will surely go on forever.
