Siddhartha More’s new documentary ‘Clowning With Shakespeare’ is coming out soon. The trailer is released and it looks highly intriguing. The documentary will be streaming on ‘Watch My Film’ from the 28th of June.
The documentary features maverick actors like Rajat Kapoor, Ranbir Shorey, Tilottama Shome, Jim Sarbh Saba Azad, Chandrachud Rai, Vinay Pathak, Kalki Koechlin, Atul Kumar ans Isha Ahluwalia. Rajat Kapoor, Ranbir Shorey and Vinay Pathak are regular collaborators and you know when these three are coming together fo a project, they are going to rock. The documentary is about the actors trying to revive the Shakespearean classics through the dying art of theater. They do some changes in the dramas, and they do them with clowns.
While it was not possible for all to watch the production of the drama, the makers coupd have been more considerate so that at least we could watch the documentary. But ‘Clowning With Shakespeare’ will be streaming on ‘Watch My Film’. It would have been more accessible if it were to stream on Netflix, Prime Video or some other popular platform. There will indeed be a huge audience that would want to watch ‘Clowning With Shakespeare’ and the makers should try to reach out to that audience. There is no noise and marketing about the film as well. Documentaries in India are having such unique concepts while there are not still the suitable audiences, is a sad thing. If a documentary has an audience, it should be made available to them easily.
