Amazon Prime Video has renewed Coach Prime for Season 3. The documentary series explores the lives of all team members of the University of Colorado Boulder football (American) team and their head coach, Deion Sanders, who is best known by his nickname “Prime Time.”
This news comes after Prime Video recently greenlighted four new sports documentary projects: an untitled project on “Madden NFL”, an untitled Earnhardt project, Danny DeVito’s “Game 7” anthology project, and a true crime documentary project called “ChiefsAholic: A Wolf in Chiefs Clothing.” Drake will serve as one of the co-producers for the last title.
Coach Prime’s showrunner Micah Brown will serve as one of the series’ executive producers, along with SMAC Production’s Michael Strahan, Constance Schwartz-Morini, Jamie Elias, and Fred Anthony Smith. SMAC Production is a key division of SMAC Entertainment, which falls under the control of Prime Video Sports.
The show debuted in December 2022 and bestowed four episodes in its first season. The second season had six episodes to offer. Season 1 touched upon Deion Sanders’ journey as the new coach for Colorado after leading the Jackson State University football team the previous year. The sophomore season served as a direct continuation of the first season, covering Sanders’ inaugural season as Buffaloes’ head coach. No release date for Coach Prime Season 3 has been revealed yet. Stay tuned for more updates.
