Jennifer Winget, who recently made a splash on the digital medium with her debut series Code M is disappointed and upset lately. The actress can’t believe that one of her television shows has been turned into a web exclusive show.
The show we are talking about here is Beyhadh on Sony Entertainment channel. The head honchos have decided to shift it to a web platform (SonyLiv), after the dismal performance of the series on prime time. The problem here is said to be with the breaching of the contract. It reportedly slates Beyhadh to be a TV Show. The remunerations are taken accordingly.
Beyhadh had replaced the ever-popular Kaun Banega Crorepati last year. The popularity of Jennifer Winget and the thriller aspect was seen as a potential deal to maintain the TRP’s. Unfortunately, that did not occur.
Given Jennifer’s debut on OTT platform with Code M, it wouldn’t have been a big deal if Beyhadh was positioned as a web series from the start. The unexpected switch seems to have led to the inconvenience among the parties. We have to see how the issue is settled, in the end.
