In case you are a true-blue Hollywood movie buff, then you must have already watched some films directed by the filmmaker duo Joel Coen and Ethan Coen, popularly known as the Coen Brothers. They are the ones behind some cult Oscar-winning films like ‘Fargo’ and ‘No Country for Old Men’.
Coen Brothers directed all their films together but a few years back, they decided to split, and their last film together was the Netflix Western anthology ‘The Ballad of Buster Scruggs’ (2018). Soon after, Joel Coen directed his first solo directorial venture ‘The Tragedy of Macbeth’ (1021) with Denzel Washington and Frances McDormand in the lead roles. Then, Ethan Coen directed a documentary called ‘Jerry Lee Lewis: Trouble in Mind’ and the road comedy movie ‘Drive-Away Dolls’.
In a fantastic piece of update for cinephiles, the Coen Brothers are all set to reunite for another film. And the interesting thing about the reunion is that it will be for a genre they have never touched – horror. Yes, you read that right. Because as per the latest update, Ethan Coen and Joel Coen have written a new script together and they plan to team up again to direct it. And it’s going to be a pure and very bloody horror film. So, that’ll be a first for them but it’s great news for horror movie enthusiasts.
It has also been revealed that fans who liked their first ever feature film ‘Blood Simple’ (1984), will also like the upcoming horror movie directed by Coen Brothers. For the unversed, ‘Blood Simple’ was a neo-noir crime thriller about a Texas bar owner, who finds out that his wife is cheating on him with one of his employees. He hires a detective and hatches a plan to kill them but gets more than what he had bargained for. Stay tuned to Binged for the latest updates on Coen Brothers’ horror movie.
