Jughead Jones from Riverdale is onboard for another mission. Yes, Riverdale actor Cole Sprouse has just joined the cast of HBO Max Sci-fi film ‘Moonshot’.
The story of ‘Moonshot’ reportedly revolves around a universe in the future where Mars has been colonized by the best and brightest of the human race. The story takes a bizarre turn when two college students sneak into a spaceship travelling to Mars to join the other human beings on the red planet. Sprouse will star opposite Lana Condor, who will portray the other college student named Sophie.
Cole Sprouse will have a direct connection with his Riverdale team too for ‘Moonshot’ as Riverdale executive producers Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter will produce the film. This will be Berlanti’s second collaboration with HBO Max after Unpregnant. Christopher Winterbauer, who earlier directed futuristic comedy ‘Wyrm’ will be directing ‘Moonshot’ with a screenplay by Max Taxe.
Apart from ‘Moonshot’, Cole Sprouse is currently occupied with the season 5 of previously mentioned the CW show Riverdale. Sprouse is also set to star with Zachary Levi in upcoming film Under Cover, produced by Lionsgate Studio.
HBO Max has not announced the release date of ‘Moonshot’ as of now but with all the buzz humming around, the fan will wait eagerly for this science fiction rom-com.
