Indian stand-up comedian and YouTuber Danish Sait is returning to portray another one of his (in)famous characters for the silver screen – a character called “An Gopi”. The actor-comedian is expected to breathe life into this uniquely funny character in the upcoming directorial debut of actor-writer Vamsidhar Bhogaraju titled One Cut Two Cut.
This will not be the first time Danish will have portrayed one of his well known characters for the silver screen; in the 2018 feature film Humble Politician Nograj, Danish portrayed a fictional corrupt politician Nograj – a character which he had previously taken up as part of his prank calls during his time as a radio jockey on Fever 104 FM. The film was well received by Indian and the Kannadiga audience and we expect One Cut Two Cut to follow suit as well.
Danish has made multiple videos featuring the character “An Gopi” on YouTube; the fictional character has got a cult following of his own. Gopi is supposed to be an awkward Kannadiga man who tackles various scenarios and recites them to us, in an extremely funny manner – we expect the film to show us these situations rather than him just narrating the incidents, which is usually the norm. Due to the character’s immense popularity, Puneet Rajkumar’s PRK productions have decided to produce the film, with Danish and Vamsidhar having penned the script together.
The film is expected to go into production next month (February) and according to the new-time director the film is expected to be a family entertainer and our protagonist Gopi will (finally) have a proper love interest in this feature. Danish and Vamsidhar have decided to make Gopi an arts-and-craft teacher, and how the character would react to various mishaps in his life. According to the actor-director duo, the penned script is funny and with a diverse cast, the film is expected to be a comedy thriller.
