Amazon Prime Video today announced the upcoming premiere of LOL: Enga Siri Paappom, the Tamil version of its international comedy reality show, LOL: Last One Laughing. LOL: Enga Siri Paappom will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on 27th August, in 240 territories across the world. The show is produced by SOL Productions Pvt Ltd.
LOL: Enga Siri Paappom is a six-part comedy reality show, hosted by the late comedian and Padma Shri winner, Vivek. It is one of Vivek’s last works before he passed away in April, and thus all the more special. Renowned actor Shiva is Vivek’s co-host in the show. Both act as judges and referees in the reality show. Ten acclaimed comedians, including Maya S Krishnan, Abhishek Kumar, Premgi Amaren, Harathi Ganesh, RJ Vignesh Kanth, Sathish, Pugazh, Powerstar Srinivasan, Baggy (Bhargav Ramakrishnan), and Syama Harini, are pitted against each other under the same roof under the vigilant eye of the two hosts-cum-judges.
The rules of the comedy reality game show are thus – the ten contestants will compete against each other for six consecutive hours. They have two objectives – to make the other contestants in the house laugh; and at the same time ensure that they do not laugh themselves. The one who laughs – loses! The last one standing gets the title and takes home a whopping cash prize of INR 25 Lakh.
LOL is a fun, interesting format, and at the same time, brings the element of competitiveness into the picture. It has several international versions — Japanese, Mexican, Italian, Australian, Spanish and an upcoming French version. Amazon Prime Video released the Hindi version of LOL in April this year. It is titled LOL: Hasse Toh Phasse, and is hosted by Bollywood actors, Boman Irani and Arshad Warsi.
