Computer screen thriller ‘Missing’, which is a standalone sequel to the critically and commercially successful 2018 film ‘Searching’, started streaming in India on the Amazon Prime Video store albeit on a rental / pay-per-view basis. In case you don’t want to spend the extra bucks to watch ‘Missing’ on rent, you can soon stream the movie rent free on an Indian streaming platform. Let us inform you that ‘Missing’ will start streaming on the Netflix OTT platform from 24th May onwards.
Similar to its predecessor ‘Searching’ where John Cho starred as a father who tries to track his missing daughter through just a computer, its sequel ‘Missing’ too is based on the same computer screen aka screen-life thriller format.
The basic plot of ‘Missing’ follows the story of an LA-based young woman named June, whose mother goes missing after the latter goes on a leisure trip to Columbia with her boyfriend. Now, the helpless June desperately tries to find the whereabouts of her missing mother with the help of technology and social media platforms. But the deeper she investigates, the more she learns about her mother’s dark secrets and mysterious past.
After it was released in theatres earlier this year in January, ‘Missing’ garnered positive feedback from critics and was widely admired by the audiences. The movie currently holds an impressive critics’ score of 87% and is ‘Certified Fresh’ on reviews aggregation portal Rotten Tomatoes. The audience score is even higher at 90% on the same website. Moreover, on IMDb, ‘Missing’ has received a pretty decent user rating of 7.1/10. Stay tuned to Binged for the latest OTT updates.
