Another day goes by, and another Netflix documentary is announced. All of it feels inevitable now. Netflix has always loved its documentaries, and though it has also run into many controversies due to them, they show no signs of slowing down. Netflix’s Crack: Cocaine, Corruption and Conspiracy is another documentary in an already long list which will leave you in shock and with its content.
Even though there are organisations and awareness programs all around the world, it feels that the consumption of drugs has only increased with time. Netflix’s Crack takes us on a journey to unroot its past, how it seemed to grow into such a large illegal business and all that went into establishing this big racket.
Netflix’s Crack takes an in-depth look at the Crack epidemic that destroyed America and left families devastated in their wake as it raged through the impulse of an entire nation. It all started in the 1980s, and decades later, one can still feel the aftershocks and effects of what it has done to people and their lives.
This documentary takes you on an inside journey to show how ulterior motives and facades helped build momentum to this plague which took many of the youth along with it. The war against Communism, the propaganda against a particular race and the need for power without and thought for the long-term cost of the people cast a dark shadow on the nation.
Netflix’s Crack: Cocaine, Corruption and Conspiracy will stream on Netflix on 11th January.
