A recent ad has been the topic of much discussion among netizens lately. It features Anil Kapoor as the iconic character of Arun Verma from ‘Mr. India’.
It is an advertisement for the Google pixel phone where Arun Verma (Anil Kapoor) and Jugal come back to the place where they had found the invisibility gadget. In a secret place behind a frame, they find another gadget, which is a Google phone, with tremendous powers. Arun Verma even vanishes for a moment while saving a vase from falling.
Mr. India came out in 1987 and was a huge hit, especially among kids. Mr. India is probably the first Indian superhero film that was also a critical success. Fans have been waiting eagerly for Kapoor’s return in the role. There were speculations about some other actor reprising the role, for example, there was a huge buzz that Ranveer Singh is playing Mr. India. It was Ali Abbas Zafar who was planning a trilogy with the character. But this ad shows that people still want Anil Kapoot himself for the role.
Filmmaker Shekhar Kapoor has been saying for a long time that he is planning to bring Mr. India back. He has retweeted the ad saying “So MrIndia decided to be invisible for the last 30 years and now suddenly re-emerged! How come he looks the same? Maybe the bracelet doesn’t just give you the power of invisibility, but also eternal youth!”
Kapoor’s return as the superhero might be a teaser for the film, and fans want it to be.
