The episode 1 of season 1 of Mind Over Murder is now streaming on Disney+Hotstar. The show first premiered on HBO on the 20st of June this year and has got wonderful ratings from critics as well as audiences. The crime documentary is directed by Nanfu Wang. ‘Mind Over Murder’ has the wonderful cast of Cara D’Adamo, Tim Shelburne, Scott Watson, Keara Benton, Nanfu Wang, Lisa Heller and many more talented actors.
‘Mind Over Murder’ tells the very disturbing story of six individuals who were convicted of brutally killing an innocent grandmother. A 68 year old woman Helen Wilson was murdered in Nebraska in 1985. The ‘Beatrice Six’, as they were called were exonerated from DNA evidence in 2009. Five of the criminals confessed to the crime. The whole town was divided in the turn of events.
The docuseries talks about how we have to question the reliability of confessions and memory in crime. Netflix has created quite a monopoly in the genre of true crime documentaries but now other platforms are entering into the field with great content. Disney+Hotstar’s experiment with the genre has impressed audiences and the mini series is a quite wonderful one for crime lovers. There is great cinematography that is handled by Jarred Altermann and consists of 6 small episodes that will be over in one go.
