Criminal Justice has been a sleeper hit ever since the first season that came out back in 2019 with Jackie Shroff and Vikrant Massey essaying pivotal roles in it. After such a resounding success, the anticipation for Criminal Justice Behind closed doors (Season 2) is even better.
Madhav Mishra (Pankaj Tripathi) once again portrays the character of a lawyer who is willing to take on cases that look like an open and shut case and dig deep to find out the entire truth about them. Season 1 of Criminal Justice highlighted the biases present in our society and culture in a very subtle manner when everybody was ready to blame Aditya Sharma (Vikrant Massey) for the rape and murder of a girl without even trying to have an unbiased and thorough investigation from the start.
We all like to put a label on things and people, especially because of their background and the way that they speak but sometimes it gives rise to choices that can be very costly in the long run. Criminal Justice Season 2 again takes us on a similar journey through the lenses of another case where Anu Chandra (Kirti Kulhari) stabs her seemingly perfect husband, and everybody is ready to declare this as an open and shut case, but Madhav Mishra refuses to take things at their face value and plunges in to unravel the truth.
Everyone is innocent until proven guilty and has the right to a proper and distinguished defence council but do these sentiments always echo through our judicial system or the society in general. A show like Criminal Justice proves to be a breath of fresh air that tries to show us the other side of the coin and makes us question our pre held assumptions.
Criminal Justice Behind Closed doors will be streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from 24th December.
