Originally based on the 2008 BBC series of the same name, Disney+ Hotstar, the Criminal Justice franchise is coming back with its fourth season.
When the platform was launched Criminal Justice was one of the first series which was aired.
Pankaj Tripathi will return as lawyer Madhav Mishra in a new story, though other casting details are remaining under wraps.
Director said lots of the original characters will come back.
He also said that the season would focus on the evolution of the Mishra character, who is the main attraction of the show.
According to him “Everyone wants to root for him, and you can always trust him to finally do the right thing,” he added.
It followed a similar plot line to the BBC show, which starred Ben Whishaw as a man accused of murder after a drunken night out, in season 1.
Banerjee praised Disney+ Hotstar’s partnership with the BBC, saying the British content giant had allowed Applause CEO Sameer Nair and the writing team the “freedom” to follow their vision and make the series “completely Indian.”
In the announcement teaser we can see a court hearing is going on, where Pankaj Tripathi is stating his point at the exact moment the camera turns to him he asks the Cameraman to go because court is going on.
Quickly he again calls the Cameraman to tell that he is coming back soon and we can watch him again.
So buckle up, because our trusty lawyer is coming back.
