Amazon Prime Video has dropped the trailer for its upcoming original series ‘Dahaad’ and its one riveting serial killer drama. Created by Reema Kagti and Zoya Akhtar, ‘Dahaad’ will premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime Video on 12th May, 2023.
‘Dahaad’ trailer begins with sub-inspector Anjali Bhaati (Sonakshi Sinha) discovering similarities between several cases of missing women who are all later found to be dead. As she continues her investigation, she begins to suspect that the seemingly clear-cut suicide cases maybe the work of a serial killer on the loose.
She suspects him to be a college professor, who otherwise looks like a normal middle class family man. But Anjali is not ready to let it go so easily and thus begins a riveting game of cat and mouse chase between a seasoned criminal and an underdog cop.
Other than Sinha, ‘Dahaad’ also stars Vijay Verma, Gulshan Devaiah and Sohum Shah in prominent roles. Yogi Singha, Sanghmitra Hitaishi, Ratnabali Bhattacharjee, Nirmal Chiraniyan, Vijay Kumar Dogra, Abhishek Bhalerao and Waris Ahmed Zaidi round out the cast.
Earlier titled as ‘Fallen’, ‘Dahaad’ is directed by Reema Kagti and Ruchika Oberoi, with Kagti also serving as a writer alongside Ritesh Shah, Mansi Jain, Sunayana Kumari, Karan Shah and Chaitanya Chopra.
Produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment and Reema Kagti and Zoya Akhtar’s Tiger Baby Films ‘Dahaad’ is also the first ever Indian web series that premiered at Berlin International Film Festival earlier in February this year. ‘Dahaad’ will start streaming only on Amazon Prime Video from 12th May, 2023 onwards.
