Daredevil fame Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Woll are set to reprise their fan-favourite characters of Franklin “Foggy” Nelson and Karen Page, respectively, in the upcoming Disney+ Born Again series. The prominent industry insider, Jeff Sneider, revealed this in one of his recent blogs on The InSneider. The duo was noticeably absent in the show’s initial cast.
According to Sneider, the decision to bring back Henson and Woll results from the creative overhaul of the Born Again series, which also resulted in Dario Scardapane becoming the showrunner. However, the report does not reveal if the actors will have full-fledged roles or cameo appearances in the show. Still, this news will make many Daredevil fans who loved the original Netflix series happy.
While Charlie Cox led Netflix’s Daredevil series, Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Woll were the heart and soul of the show. Back when Kevin Feige announced Born Again at the 2022 San Diego Comic-Con event, many fans expected that Henson and Woll would reprise their respective popular characters in the Disney+ series. However, Marvel Studios broke fans’ hearts when they announced that Foggy and Karen would not be a part of the show during its early development process.
There is no denying that Daredevil (Matt Murdock) is incomplete without Foggy and Karen. In other words, we can say that The Devil of Hell’s Kitchen needs them both. For instance, Karen is an important part of Matt Murdock’s life. She is the only person who never loses her faith in the Man Without Fear and keeps him on the ground at all times. On the other hand, Foggy is Murdock’s best friend and deeply cares about his superhero friend. Thanks to Drew Goddard and his team, they added more depth to Hensen’s character in the original Daredevil series instead of treating him like a pampered clown (like his comic counterpart), which helped viewers connect more closely with him.
Foggy and Karen are also important in Matt Murdock’s life as they constantly save him from descending into the depths of his superhero alter ego. In addition, they often remind Murdock that he is not alone in his fight against crime; they are with him at every step.
