Netflix has just dropped the first poster for its hotly anticipated psychological thriller film ‘The Killer’, which comes from master storyteller, David Fincher. The first poster for David Fincher’s ‘The Killer’ is grim, dark and compelling. Netflix revealed ‘The Killer’ poster ahead of the film’s premiere this week on 3rd September, at the Venice International Film Festival. The film will then release in limited theatres on 27th October, 2023, and on Netflix worldwide on 10th November, 2023.
‘The Killer’ is a passion project for David Fincher, and has been on his mind for twenty years. It is based on the French graphic novel series of the same name, written by Alexis Nolent and illustrated by Luc Jacamon. The Killer is part of the four-year deal that David Fincher signed with streaming giant Netflix in 2021.
The psychological thriller film stars Michael Fassbender in the titular role of a cold-blooded assassin. Charles Parnell, Arliss Howard, Sophie Charlotte, and Tilda Swinton, among others, essay pivotal roles in the film. The movie is produced by Plan B Entertainment, along with Paramount Pictures and Archaia Entertainment.
‘The Killer’ will see David Fincher team up with screenwriter Andrew Kevin Walker, who had written Fincher’s 1995 serial killer suspense thriller ‘Se7en’. ‘The Killer’ tells the story of an assassin who begins to develop a conscience and questions himself on the work he is doing, even as clients line up at his door, demanding his particular set of skills.
The official synopsis for ‘The Killer’ reads – “Solitary, cold, methodical and unencumbered by scruples or regrets, a killer waits in the shadows, watching for his next target. Yet, the longer he waits, the more he thinks he’s losing his mind, if not his cool.”
David Fincher’s ‘The Killer’ will premiere on Netflix worldwide on 10th November, 2023. Stay tuned to Binged for further updates on the much-awaited thriller film.
