The saga of The Upside Down is about to come to an end! David Harbour has revealed that the fifth season of Stranger Things will be the final entry to one of the biggest Netflix hit shows. The actor also disclosed that filming for Season 5 would commence in June, in his recent appearance at the Middle East Film & Comic Con in Abu Dhabi.
This is what the actor said upon being asked about the show’s final instalment:
“We’re walking into season five. I’ve got a couple more months to train. We start shooting that in June, though, and that will be the final season.”
Although, the actor disclosed not too much about the upcoming season’s plot. “He [Hopper] was in a very specific position, that Russian prison. It was about making him a different guy and sort of shedding a layer of himself physically, mentally, and emotionally. But now he’s back in town, he’s back in America where they have cheeseburgers, so he will be well-fed.”
Fans saw Hopper getting back together with his adopted and superpowered girl, Eleven, in Season 4. He also reunited with Joyce. Additionally, Will learns that Vecna is still alive.
Apart from the things mentioned above, the final season will deal with a lot: including Max’s health and her state of mind, Will’s sexuality, The Upside Down’s invasion of Hawkins, Robin’s new love interest, Eleven and Mike’s relationship, and many more.
This update is certainly exhilarating for fans but also has a bittersweet feeling to it as we will see the last of Hawkins with Season 5. The show treasures a huge global fanbase and is one of Netflix’s flagship shows, all thanks to The Duffer Brothers!
David Harbour did not shed light on Season 5’s release window. But it is likely to come out next year. Apart from Harbour, Stranger Things stars Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Winona Ryder, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, and many more talents. Stay tuned for more updates.
