Emma Corrin is a part of Deadpool 3’s sensational cast, consisting of stars like Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, Morena Baccarin, Jennifer Garner, and more. Rumors regarding her character in the upcoming MCU flick have been swirling for months now. A prominent scooper on Twitter, CanWeGetSomeToast, has revealed what character the actress will play in the film.
According to CanWeGetSomeToast, Corrin is set to portray Cassandra Nova, twin sister of Charles Xavier, aka Professor X, in Deadpool 3. Neither Disney nor Marvel Studios have verified these claims.
I can confirm that Emma Corrin will be portraying Cassandra Nova in #Deadpool3.
In the comics, Cassandra Nova is Charles Xavier’s evil twin who is his equal and exact opposite. He tried to telepathically kill her in the womb but she survives the attack and spends her life… https://t.co/7d5Eh10esJ pic.twitter.com/s2ljjOgWEP

Cassandra Nova debuted in Marvel Comics through New X-Men #114 (2001). The character quickly gained global prominence and is now considered one of the most powerful adversaries of X-Men. Created by the duo of Grant Morrison and Frank Quitely, Cassandra is a ‘mummudrai’, a type of parasitic life form born without a physical body on the astral plane. She copied Xavier’s DNA to create her own body, ultimately becoming his twin sister.
Xavier tried to kill Cassandra in the womb after sensing her evil intentions. The latter survived Xavier’s attacks and vowed to take revenge on her brother. She was forced to create a physical body for herself to withstand Xavier’s powerful telepathic powers. Cassandra is just the opposite of Xavier.
Given the MCU’s history of significantly changing the backstories or arcs of several superheroes or villains from the comics, the odds of the superhero franchise altering Cassandra Nova’s origin story cannot be ignored.
In a recent interview with Empire, Emma Corrin shared her excitement about joining Deadpool 3, “I feel really excited to play a villain. I haven’t done that, and it’s an itch I want to scratch. It’s such an intricate world. There’s so much to it, it’s an absolute mind-f—. I really understand why it means as much as it does to so many people. It’s a phenomenon, and I feel really lucky to be a part of it.”
Directed by Shawn Levy, Deadpool 3 is scheduled to hit the theatres on May 3, 2024. Stay tuned for more updates.
