Brahmāstra: Part One Shiva is doing really well at the Box Office. It is now the most successful Hindi film of the year and even after mixed reviews, people kinda liked it.
In its first week, Brahmāstra earned over 300 crores at the box office. It made the movie the number one film globally if we take into accounts the earnings of the film.
It is the first time any Hindi film has achieved this feat. But looks like Forbes Magazine experienced a hell burn out of it. They don’t seem to be pleased with an Indian cinema doing well and that made them climb down the ladder to mock the film.
Yes, you read it correctly. “To MOCK Brahmāstra.”
Needless to say, just like every film, Brahmāstra recorded a drop in its global Box Office collection and quite obviously it could not maintain the position of number 1.
This extremely normal trend came as a way for Forbes to make a monkey of the film.
See what they wrote about the film.
First of all, it is Astraverse and NOT Astroverse. But the blockhead writers may not bother to research what Astra means.
Also, who claimed Brahmāstra to be the next MCU? Karan Johar, Ayan Mukerji, or Dharma Productions didn’t. Even Disney didn’t say so, which is the production house behind both MCU and Brahmāstra.
If Forbes can’t think of a universe beyond the MCU then it is a reflection of their limitation. It is absolutely wrong to label the concept of Brahmāstra as MCU because they are fundamentally different.
Brahmāstra finds its origin and references in the ancient scriptures. And quite obviously Forbes won’t get that because they are the Americans in the room.
For those who don’t know the reference to the Dark Universe, it was a cinematic universe by Universal Pictures. It was a concept that was ultimately scrapped.
Shamelessly comparing Brahmāstra: Part One Shiva with Dark Universe is yet another example of the deep-rooted snobbery inside the western media.
It’s high time Forbes Magazine and western media as a whole understand that Indian cinema does NOT need their approval in any way. We have been making great cinema for decades and we will continue to do so.
