Netflix India in a killer move is bringing a high octane documentary on perhaps the most celebrated director of contemporary Indian cinema — SS Rajamouli.
The man is known for larger than life films that appeal to not just his local Telugu audience but entire India and beyond. The decision to make a documentary called “Modern Masters: SS Rajamouli” is a great one. When the world has finally started seeing Indian cinema in all its glory then it is a bonus to know what goes inside the head of the man who created movies that made the world go crazy.
One of the biggest strengths of Netflix India has been documentaries because nobody makes better documentaries than they do. This year, they have been exceptionally slow with only one documentary so far.
So, “Modern Masters” becomes more important than merely a normal documentary.
So, what has been done for “Modern Masters: SS Rajamouli” so far?
The Telugu people are already pissed off because the dubbing of the documentary was not up to the mark in their language. The platform is showing no signs of promoting the documentary let alone acting upon the damage control.
