Filming for Shakun Batra‘s yet untitled, next film by Dharma Productions has been completed. The film stars Deepika Padukone, Ananya Pandey, Siddhant Chturvedi and Dhairya Karwa (of ‘Uri’ fame) in lead roles. This Karan Johar produced movie will now go into the post-production stage and we should expect an announcement, some first looks or at the very least, the film’s title very soon!
Deepika took to Instagram and shared the news with some fun pictures from the sets and captioned the post saying, “Love, friendship and memories for a lifetime.” Ananya Pandey too, shared a similar update with some fun images and an emotional caption. A video from the sets also made it to social media, where director Shakun Batra got emotional post the wrap up of the shoot.
From the looks of it, the film seems to be a fun, light-hearted rom-com, but no revelations have been made so far by the makers regarding the storyline or characters. We only know from rumour mills that Deepika’s role could be that of a fitness trainer and that the two lead heroines may be playing sisters. Since last year, the four young stars were often spotted together shooting for the movie in Mumbai and traveling to and from Alibaug and Goa for the film’s shoot.
Incidentally, Dhairya Karwa is the third newcomer to join Karan Johar’s celebrity management venture Dharma Cornerstone Agency (DCA). The actor, whose claim to fame was his role in ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’, will also be seen in the Kapil Dev Biography ’83.
On the work front, Ananya, last seen opposite Ishaan Khatter in ‘Khaali Peeli’ has been roped in for ‘Liger’ opposite South star Vijay Deverakonda. As for Siddhant, he has wrapped up the shoot of Aditya Chopra’s ‘Bunty air Babli 2’ with Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji and is currently filming for ‘Phone Booth’. Meanwhile, apart from this movie, Deepika has a series of films lined up starting with the Ranveer Singh starrer ’83. She also has the Hindi remake of Hollywood film ‘The Intern’ with Amitabh Bachchan, ‘Fighter’ alongside Hrithik Roshan, ‘Pathan’ with Shah Rukh Khan, ‘Project K’ with Prabhas and director Nag Ashwin’s next venture in the pipeline.
