Last year, popular streaming service Amazon Prime Video delivered a host of well-received and coitally acclaimed shows like ‘Farzi’, ‘Dahaad’, ‘Jubilee’ and ‘Bambai Meri Jaan’. And the OTT giant all set for the release of yet another interesting show called ‘Poacher’. It’s an investigative crime drama series which will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on 23rd February 2024.
‘Poacher’ is being described as a fictional retelling of events which took place in the forests located in the State of Kerala and India’s capital Delhi. The show’s underlying plot ostensibly revolves around how Indian forest officers, cops, NGO workers, and other well-intentioned people put their lives on stake and courageously investigated the largest ivory poaching ring in India.
Besides an intriguing premise, another good thing about Amazon Prime Video’s ‘Poacher’ series is that the upcoming show has been created, written, and directed by the Canadian filmmaker Richie Mehta. For those who are not aware, Richie Mehta had written and directed the first season of the highly rated crime drama series ‘Delhi Crime’ which featured Shefali Shah in the lead role. Incidentally, it was the first Indian series to win an International Emmy Award for the ‘Best Drama Series’ category.
‘Poacher’ will be released on Amazon Prime Video in Hindi, English, and Malayalam languages on 23rd February. Stay tuned to Binged for the latest updates on the same.
