The first season of Delhi Crime was undoubtedly a homerun. It received universal acclaim for its grim, gritty, and grounded storytelling. Another thing that bagged praise was the showrunners’ efforts to humanise the cops in the show. It is something that you do not see in every Indian crime thriller series. Now, the second season is near its release date. Fans are keeping their expectations high about the forthcoming season. And they should!
Many factors made the Netflix show an instant global hit. But what really made the crime thriller a complete knockout was the top-notch work from the entire cast, particularly from Shefali Shah. Her grounded yet sensational performance was the biggest highlight of Season 1. Plus, the actress’ outstanding chemistry with Rasika Dugal, Adil Hussain, and Rajesh Tailang made the show an intriguing watch. Shah has the ability to bring out the best in herself and her co-actors. She has done the same in Darlings (Netflix), Jalsa (Prime Video), and Humans (Disney+ Hotstar) too.
Season 1 also benefitted from its amazing cinematography and Richie Mehta’s stylish direction. This time, we have Tanuj Chopra as the second season’s helmer. Let’s hope his direction does justice to Mehta’s work.
