Delhi Crime is one of the most celebrated titles on Netflix. After Sacred Games and The Fame Game if one series worked for Netflix then it was Delhi Crime.
It has an ensemble cast of more than capable actors like Shefali Shah, Rasika Dugal, Adil Hussain, and Rajesh Tailang.
The series was directed by Richie Mehta and it was released in 2019.
The series follows the story of the infamous Nirbhaya Kaand which shook the whole nation in 2012. The horror of the rape, the churning pressure on the police, and the boiling rage which was clear in the media and the public. All these elements and many more were in action and the police were having immense pressure on themselves.
The series is based on the aftermath through which the cops caught the rapists who were wandering throughout the city.
Shefali Shah is currently enjoying the enormous success of Darlings on Netflix itself and now she will be returning with her heart-wrenching performance in Delhi Crime. She played the titular character of DCP Vartika and the magic was unprecedented.
The show became the first Indian show to win an Emmy award. It bagged the award in the Outstanding Drama Series category.
But, the trailer for the second season is out and it is returning with a huge responsibility to do justice to the legacy of the first one.
But this time, the story is about a serial killer who is on spree of killing older people. What will DCP Vartika do?
Delhi Crime Season 2 will start streaming on Netflix from August 26th and that is when we’ll know the answer.
