Illumination’s latest sensation, Despicable Me 4, has received its OTT release window in India. Arriving in theatres on July 3, the fourth Despicable Me chapter puts AVL agent Gru (Steve Carrell) against his old rival Maxime Le Mal (Will Ferrell). The latter’s threat forces Gru to relocate his family to a safe house. There, they meet their new neighbours, the Prescotts. Their teenage daughter, Poppy (Joey King), who wants to become a great villainess, threatens Gru to blow his secret cover unless he helps her in a theft. Amidst all this chaos, we see some lucky minions turning into Megaminions and Gru trying hard to win his newborn son’s heart.
Indian viewers can stream Despicable Me 4 on BookMyShow from August 16. Meanwhile, they have the alternative of enjoying the film in selected theatres. You can also pre-buy the movie for INR 999 only on BookMyShow.
The latest Despicable Me entry has turned out to be another substantial financial success for Illumination, earning over $760 million globally against its $100 million budget, despite earning a mixed critical reception. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film has a “rotten” 56% score, based on 158 reviews.
