Dev’s ‘Kacher Manush’ will soon be premiering on OTT. The film had its theatrical release on the 30th of September last year and received positive responses from audiences. The film will soon be premiering on Amazon Prime Video. No details regarding the dates have been announced yet.
Kacher Manush is written by Shubhendu Dasmunshi, Arnab Bhaumik and Priya Das and directed by filmmaker Pathikrit Basu. Kacher Manush stars Dev and Prasenjit Chatterjee in the lead roles. It has Ishaa Saha, Susmita Chatterjee and Ranjit Mallick in other important roles. The music is given by Nilayan Chatterjee and the movie has some really beautiful songs, there is one song sung by Sonu Nigam that is actually divine.
The movie tells the story of a young unemployed man who has a paralyzed mother to look after. He gets frustrated with his life and continuous failures and decides to commit suicide. An insurance agent saves him just when he is about to get hit by a train. The two come up with an idea to make money for both of them. He makes him buy a life insurance policy that will be profitable for both of them and also promises to look after his mother after he commits suicide. The two men decide various ways to die but one’s mind changes suddenly.
The film is a wonderful take on guilt, failure and depression. Dev is going on a very different track than the commercial movies that he used to do some time ago. Dev’s movies are synonymous with unique content and story. And no doubt Prasenjit has done a very good job in the movie. Dev too is impressive. You should definitely like ‘Kacher Manush’.
