The trailer of Kangana Ranaut‘s much-awaited ‘Dhaakad’ is finally out. And it would be no exaggeration to say that the trailer makes quite an impact on the viewer. Dhaakad releases in theatres on May 20, 2022.
The Dhaakad trailer is fast-paced, entertaining and brims with stunning action sequences. Kangana Ranaut pulls off the complicated action moves with effortless ease. She plays a high-profile spy, Agent Agni, in the film. Agni infiltrates enemy lines with impunity, and kills and maims with nonchalant ruthlessness. She is a powerful force of nature who can put the fear of God in her adversaries.
But then Agni crosses swords with the heartless, menacing Rudraveer, an evil antagonist through and through. The second half of the trailer shows Agni badly injured and gripped by an undisclosed trauma. She retreats into solitude to lick her wounds, but then returns with a vengeance to unleash mayhem on her enemies.
Kangana Ranaut’s fight sequences remind us heavily of Uma Thurman’s moves in Quentin Tarantino’s female avenger flick, ‘Kill Bill’. Kangana’s a joy to watch, nevertheless. Arjun Rampal inspires awe as Rudraveer. Not since Ra.One and Om Shanti Om have we seen him in such an out and out evil avatar. The clash between the two personalities promises to be a memorable one.
Saswata Chatterjee plays Agent Agni’s boss/handler in the spy network. Divya Dutta makes an effective appearance as Rudraveer’s second-in-command. She seems to be as ruthless as her boss. We hardly get to see anything of Sharib Hashmi in the Dhaakad trailer, which is a shame.
Dhaakad is directed by Razneesh Ghai, and produced by Deepak Mukut and Sohel Maklai under banners of Soham Rockstar Entertainment, Sohel Maklai Productions and Asylum films. The film releases in theatres on May 20.
