‘Dhamaka’ On Netflix: Explosive As The Name Suggests!

Much awaited Kartik Aaryan’s ‘Dhamaka’ trailer has now been unveiled by Netflix and as the name suggests its explosive on all counts. Helmed by Ram Madhvani, ‘Dhamaka’ will premiere exclusively on Netflix on 19th November, 2021.

The trailer begins on a bright Sunday morning in Mumbai with a messy looking Arjun Pathak (Kartik Aaryan) hosting his regular radio show on Radio Bharosa. Around 9:30 am he gets a call from Raghubeer Mhata who threatens to blow up the sea link.

The moment Arjun thinks it to be hoax or prank call he hears an explosion and turns out the man on the call was not joking. Raghubeer tells he will call back in 15 minutes and this gives Arjun the opportunity to return to the prime time’s seat as before.

He grabs on it and turns to Anika Bose (Amruta Subhash), his boss, to get this exclusive news live on the TV channel. She lets him do it but gives clear instructions about the channel’s agenda of selling the news and not just reporting it.

Arjun goes live and interviews the terrorist hell bent on blowing up the sea link with no regard to the fact that it will kill huge number of innocent people. His condition to stop it all is to get an apology from minister Jaidev Patil.

Moreover, Raghubeer takes it on a personal level with Arjun when he points out and threatens to kill his on field reporter wife Saumya Mehra Pathak (Mrunal Thakur) who is tracking the news live from the sea link. It is in these moments that the trailer shows the fun loving relationship between Arjun and Saumya that has now gone downhill and is on the verge of breaking.

Coming back to the call, Raghubeer gives Arjun 10 minutes to get the minister to apologise to him. But it isn’t as easy as it sounds as his boss Anika does not allow him to ask the minister to say sorry to a terrorist. Instead she tells him that she can save him if he says what the company wants.

On one hand military men are seen conducting a search operation to find the terrorist, on the other Raghubeer threatens to explode the whole bridge if his condition is not met. In between all this Arjun finds himself in a big crunch with his wife’s life on stake. He must make a choice between his future career and the humanist in him. Will he be able to save his wife and others or will it be too late to correct it all?

Kartik Aaryan shines brilliantly throughout the trailer in his all new look and role for ‘Dhamaka’ while Amruta Subhash and Mrunal Thakur also coming through powerfully on screen. The trailer looks all explosive and action packed along with an emotional touch to a thrilling tale.

‘Dhamaka’, starring Kartik Aaryan in the lead, and Mrunal Thakur, Amruta Subhash, Vikas Kumar and Vishwajeet Pradhan in pivotal roles, is the story of a cynical ex-TV news anchor who gets an alarming call on his radio show and sees it as chance for a career comeback, but will it cost him his conscience?

Ram Madhvani (‘Neerja’, ‘Aarya’) has directed ‘Dhamaka’ that is produced by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP Movies and Ram Madhvani Films in association with Lotte Cultureworks, Globalgate Entertainment & Lionsgate.

Dhamaka’ will release only on Netflix on 19th November, 2021.
