Year 2022 has been fantastic so far for Indian cinephiles as fans have witnessed the release of some fine films. And many of those movies including some recent releases like ‘Karthikeya 2’ and ‘Sita Ramam’ also made their way to IMDb’s top rated Indian movies list. And now, the latest entrant to the coveted IMDb list is none other than the Dhanush starrer romantic comedy family drama movie ‘Thiruchitrambalam’.
‘Thiruchitrambalam’ currently holds an IMDb user rating of 8.1/10. There isn’t even an iota of doubt about the acting prowess and film selection of Dhanush. Previously, some of his other films have also cracked the IMDb list and they are Mari Selvaraj’s action drama ‘Karnan’, Vetrimaaran’s ‘Asuran’ and ‘Veda Chennai’, amongst others.
Besides, other recent Indian films from 2022 which made it to the coveted IMDb top 250 highest rated Indian movies list include the endearing drama ‘777 Charlie’ starring Rakshit Shetty, Kamal Haasan’s explosive actioner ‘Vikram’, R. Madhavan’s ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’, ‘Major’, ‘Jana Gana Mana’, ‘KGF-2’, ‘RRR’, ‘Kaun Pravin Tambe?’, and ‘Hridayam’.
Directed by Mithran R Jawahar, the story of ‘Thiruchitrambalam’ focuses on a food delivery person named Thiruchitrambalam / Pazham (played by Dhanush), who lives with his cop father (Prakash Raj) and his grandfather. He does not have a good relationship with his stern father. The basic plot is about how Pazham falls again for his high-school crush Anusha (Raashi Khanna) who belongs to the upper class. The love triangle completes with the presence of Pazham’s childhood friend and confidante Shobana (Nithya Menen), who loves Pazham but he does not know about her feelings for him. ‘Thiruchitrambalam’ is currently streaming on the Sun NXT OTT platform.
