On the occasion of actor Dhanush’s 38th birthday today, Sathya Jyothi Films revealed the title and first look of his upcoming D43 with them. Fans of the actor will be delighted to know that D43 is called “Maaran”. For those who don’t understand the Tamil language, Maaran means “he who is brave”. The first look of the film, revealed this morning, justifies the title of the film completely. Dhanush, as Maaran, looks dashing, debonair and dangerous.
The posters of Maaran are designed using rustic, earthen brown colors. The colour palette is unusual, and therefore stands out in the rush of recently announced films — almost all of which are in varying shades of grey – steel grey, dull grey, and so on. Dhanush is resplendent in the centre of the poster, having just smashed the head of one of his adversaries into a glass table, shattering it into several pieces, each piece reflecting back an image of a lock-jawed Dhanush. Yes, it is a super-stylish poster, perfectly reflecting the stylishness of Dhanush, and the film’s director Karthick Naren.
This is easily the most awaited film of Karthick Naren, who is one of the most promising young talents in the Tamil film industry. His debut film Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru was a blockbuster hit. Maaran is a crime and action thriller, at present in its final stages of production. The film will most likely release in the first quarter of 2022.
Maaran features pretty actress Malavika Mohanan in the lead, alongside Dhanush. Mahendran, Samuthirakani, Smruthi Venkat, Jaya Prakash, Krishna Kumar and Master Mahendran make up the rest of the cast. TG Thyagarajan is the producer of Maaran, while G. V. Prakash is its music composer.
