Anthony and Joe Russo (AKA “The Russo Brothers”) are directing Netflix’s most expensive movie ever made – ‘The Gray Man’, which has a production cost of over USD 200 million. Besides the brilliant director duo, all-star international cast (including Dhanush, of course) and its roots from an epic novel series, we have received even more awesome news from the directors themselves – they have wrapped up the shooting in the US, very recently. The Russo brothers made the announcement on their official Twitter account today and the tweets that followed can only be called “meme galore”. Check it out at the end of this article.
Quite a few familiar faces will be part of this ensemble cast. Hollywood heavyweights Chris Evans, Ryan Gosling and Billy Bob Thornton as well as rising stars Ana de Armas, Jessica Henwick and Regé-Jean Page will be part of this film in significant roles. Wagner Moura, the actor who portrayed Pablo Escobar in the Netflix hit series ‘Narcos’, will also be appearing in this film as well. But the one actor that has most Indians buzzing is the inclusion of Dhanush within this epic cast. Dhanush has already starred in an International movie, ‘The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir’, which flopped in the box office, but received commendations for Dhanush’s acting prowess. So we can’t wait to see Dhanush in action in this movie, no matter the size of the role.
For those of you who didn’t know, ‘The Gray Man’ is an upcoming Netflix action spy thriller based on the popular novel series of the same name, which was written by American novelist, Mark Greaney. This movie will be based on the first book of the series and has a highly recognizable international cast (as mentioned earlier). The production will now be heading to Prague where the film is expected to resume its shooting by 27th of June 2021. Dhanush is said to have 20 days of shoot in total, for the film – but reports suggest that his character will not be making an appearance in this next shooting location (Prague). However, the Russo Brothers will also take the production through other parts of Europe (after Prague), with locations including Czech Republic and the Château de Chantilly in France to be part of the aforementioned shoot. So hopefully, we will get to see the South Indian actor during those parts – but for now we will have to wait and see.
With the movie expected to drop on Netflix by 2022, we have a long six months (at least) ahead of us, for the next year to come by. For now, check out the funny video attached to the previously mentioned Russo Brothers’ Twitter post, down below:
