The film is part of the mega 18-films bonanza of Tamil films whose streaming rights have been acquired by Netflix in India. The platform had announced the names of all 18 films in January, as part of a Pongal treat for its subscribers. Now Netflix has announced the ‘Vaathi’ OTT release date. The film will release on Netflix on 17th March, which is this Friday. Vaathi will release on Netflix in all the four South languages of Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada, but not in Hindi.
‘Vaathi’ / ‘Sir’ is directed by noted director, Venky Atluri. It is produced by Sithara Entertainment and Fortune Four Cinemas.Vaathi is a period coming-of-age action drama. The film stars Dhanush in the lead role, alongside Samyuktha Menon. P. Sai Kumar, Tanikella Bharani, Samuthirakani, Hyper Aadi, Aadukalam Naren, Ilavarasu, among others, make up the rest of the cast. G. V. Prakash Kumar has composed the music of ‘Vaathi’ / ‘Sir’.
