Larry Charles, the filmmaker known for his dark comedies, is bringing a new movie soon. The movie is named ‘Dicks- A Musical’ and it will be produced by A24. As usual, this too is going to be a dark comedy with many serious subjects dealt with in it.
‘Dicks: The Musical’ has been rated R for strong sexual content, abusive language, drug use and graphic nudity. This is nothing new in Larry Charles’ movies, his movies do not usually revolve around simpler family friendly themes.
The most famous film from Larry Charles is obviously ‘The Dictator’, starring Sacha Baron Cohen, where he plays the ruler of a fictional middle eastern country who is replaced by a look alike in the USA. The movie is an out and out funny comedy but is a very strong satire at the same time. Borat, starring the same actor, is a film about a foreign documentary journalist who discovers the nuances of the western society. The films of Larry Charles are hilarious, but at the same time, offensive to some. And that is the USP in his storytelling.
‘Dicks: A Musical’ is going to be a musical as we can know from the title. It parodies the title of ‘Six The Musical’. The plot details of the movie are not revealed yet. But it is definitely going to be a highly sexual comedy with some big stars in it.
