The one common thing about Baahubali, KGF, and Pushpa is that they are duologies. Baahubali is the most successful 2-part franchise in Indian cinema and KGF too tasted very good success and so did the first part of Pushpa. Now, KGF 2 and Pushpa 2 are set to test the luck in the next few months. Coming to the topic, Prabhas‘s Salaar too is treading a similar path. There are several reliable reports claiming that the film will be made in two parts.
One interesting observation is that Allu Arjun‘s Pushpa might have influenced Prabhas’s Salaar. Wonder how, here is the story.
Pushpa: The Rise opened to rather weak reviews but that did not stop the film from putting on a fine show at the box office in the Northern circuit. What is more is that it has set the stage for the second installment. Given the fact that Pushpa 1 has collected close to Rs 100 crores nett in the Hindi circuit, there will be sky-high expectations on Pushpa 2. The box office prospects of Pushpa 2 will be encouraging, we must say.
As for Salaar, it marks the coming together of two powerhouses Prabhas and Prashanth Neel. Prabhas is already a pan-India superstar and Prashanth announced himself on the big stage with KGF. So, the expectations will be naturally high on Salaar. The idea behind the decision to make it in two parts could purely be the box office prospects.
Even if the the first part of Salaar gets just an okaysih response, it is sure to set the box office on fire, thanks to the mass appeal. If it get a super positive reception, the sky is the limit in terms of box office returns, So, a successful first part is all that Salaar needs in order to build unprecedented hype for the second part. Same as with what is happening with Pushpa now. So, in a way, Pushpa appears to have influenced Salaar.
