The government of Delhi permitted cinema halls to operate with 50% occupancy and this could well be the starting step of the rejuvenation of the pan-India theatrical market. Once Maharashtra, Delhi, and other key pockets in Northern India resume operations, we can expect several big-ticket projects to announce the release plans. Now, Prabhas‘s fans are mounting pressure on the makers of Radhe Shyam to orchestrate a release plan for the film at the earliest.
With rumors pertaining to Radhe Shyam’s direct to OTT release spreading like wildfire, the onus is on the makers of Radhe Shyam to devise a winning theatrical release plan at the earliest, as they have been emphasizing on theatrical release for the film. Now, fittingly enough, Prabhas’s fans are mounting enormous pressure on the makers to lock the earliest possible release date for the film.
Initially, the makers of Radhe Shyam saw 18 March as the optimal release date but this is no longer possible as film distributors in Karnataka have decided to exclusively screen late actor Puneeth Raj Kumar’s James in each and every cinema hall across the state. Being a pan-India film, Radhe Shyam cannot lose out on the Karnataka circuit. Incidentally, April is locked by other biggies like KGF 2, Beast, Laal Singh Chaddha, and RRR.
So, the optimal release window that is ready to be occupied is early March. The makers of Radhe Shyam should seriously contemplate the idea of releasing the film either on the first or the second Friday in the month of March. This way, they can avoid clash with other pan-India biggies and also enjoy the advantage of being the first pan-India biggie to release in theatres post the Covid third wave. An official announcement on the same is awaited for now.
