Oh no! MCU found another Tom Holland and Mark Ruffalo in Ant-Man star Evangeline Lilly. Holland and Ruffalo are infamous for spoiling several Marvel movies accidentally and they even confessed to facing consequences from the bosses of MCU. But this time, Lilly may have done the same thing.
Evangeline Lilly, who portrays Superheroine Wasp aka Hope van Dyne who is also the love interest of Scott Lang aka Ant-Man. Now, Lilly has recently commenced working on the third installment of Ant-Man and she shared an Instagram post a few days back with the image of her script dated 11th May which says, “Got my script. Read it. LOVE it. Can’t wait.” followed by a few hashtags of the cast members including Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas amongst others.
But what shocked and surprised the fans was Lilly also tagged Corey Stoll in that Instagram post. Now, Corey Stoll portrayed Daren Cross aka Yellowjacket in the first installment of Ant-Man in 2015 who was a former protégé of Michael Douglas’ character Hank Pym who takes over his Pym’s company and militarizes a similar version of the Ant-Man technology to create the villainous Yellowjacket suit. At the climax of the film, Ant-Man penetrates Cross’ suit in order to save his daughter and sabotages it to shrink uncontrollably, which results in killing Cross.
Now, it’s time for the shocking portion. Why did Evangeline Lilly tag Corey Stoll? Is he returning in the third installment of Ant-Man, Quantumania to reprise his role after being presumed dead since 2015? This anticipation and the speculation went on to grow stronger when Lilly immediately deleted that post from Instagram. This surely indicates that she may have revealed some information which she was not allowed to share.
By now we know that along with Evangeline Lilly, Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer will be returning for Quantumania to reprise their original roles while Kathryn Newton will portray Cassie Lang, the daughter of Scott Lang aka Ant-Man, replacing Emma Fuhrmann from Avengers: Endgame. But as we are still unclear on the antagonist in the film apart from the inclusion of Kang the Conqueror, we can very well assume from the ‘now-deleted’ Instagram post of Lilly that Yellowjacket may be coming back as an antagonist through some sort of ‘Quantum’ way to make it even with Ant-Man.
It’s just a matter of time till we find out whether or not Lilly gave out a spoiler but for that we need to wait till 17th February, 2023 as Ant-Man Quantumania is scheduled to release on the said day.
The official post is deleted but we have still managed to find a tweet that has the deleted picture of the same. Take a look:
